Role overview

Responsible for all product relationships and strategy development. Maintaining existing partner relationships as well as sourcing and developing new product partners, contracting and pricing. Developing and improving product offering by working closely with external product suppliers and DMC’s. Ensuring product is continually presented and priced appropriately to meet sales targets. 

What you’ll be doing

Product development & sourcing

  • Ensure UK market and target customer base are well understood and used to drive product and pricing strategy for new destinations
  • Support contracting activities through direct suppliers; including sourcing and/or negotiation with destination management companies
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, partners and frontline sales
  • Negotiate with suppliers to deliver commercial and product strategy objectives
  • Improvement of existing product offering – finding the new and the different 
  • Visiting trade shows (UK and International)

Product production

  • Provide data to inform the pricing policy based on detailed analysis of internal and external factors including definition of offers
  • Provide feedback on market opportunities
  • Brief content requirements so that information published (online, in marketing collateral, for use in sales tools and customer documents) reflects the product line strategy
  • Assist with digital content and provide feedback on style and content, input into destination and product content

Team Management

  • Coach, motivate and offer practical guidance to all members of the team so that they are able to meet sales and service goals:
  • Support  team & individual performance against agreed KPIs
  • Regular one-to-one coaching and development discussions
  • Performance improvement plans, where needed
  • Create reports to summarise performance, objectively analyse trends and pro-actively recommend improvement actions needed 
  • Action 6 month & annual performance reviews, document discussions and set objectives with supporting training plans
  • Ensure team comply with policies and procedures
  • Resolve major complaints and/ or problems in a timely, service-focused and cost-effective way
  • Ensure the team act as ‘destination insiders’:
  • Help coordinate appropriate attendance on educational visits and trade shows
  • Encourage team members to share destination insights
  • Provide opportunities for the team to broaden their own knowledge
  • Identify individuals who need further training 

Other duties

  • Negotiate with suppliers for local initiative support (funding, training, incentives etc.)
  • Actively collaborate with other departments (especially marketing/communications) to ensure supplier relationships are well managed and consistent
  • Be positive in undertaking any reasonable duties relevant to the position to ensure the success of the operation

  • Commercial acumen, able to assess data, draw conclusions and propose actions based on detailed analysis, including appropriate pricing approaches
  • All-round understanding of the factors influencing product saleability in the tailor-made market
  • Excellent all-round knowledge of the travel marketplace, competitors  and current trends 


  • Experience of line management responsibility, this could be a product team or a customer facing team (sales or service)
  • First hand travel experience in Meraki Travel destinations
  • Experience of working in a small, multi-functional team 
  • Ability to  present confidently to groups and individuals
